Download free Web Browsers. Download iCab for Mac free. ICab is an alternative Web browser for the Apple Macintosh. Windows XP Service Pack 3 SP 3 Windows XP. ICab is a web browser for Mac OS by Alexander Clauss, derived from Crystal Atari Browser (CAB) for Atari TOS compatible computers. It was one of the few browsers still updated for the classic Mac OS prior to that version being discontinued after version 3.0.5 in 2008; today Classilla is the only browser still maintained for that OS. The downloadable product is fully functional, but is nagware.
An alternative web browser designed for the macOS, featuring different tools and functionalities that are not integrated in other apps
In this case you can usually work around the problem by selecting another browser identity (like the one of FireFox or Internet Explorer) in iCab. Because a problem like this is caused by bugs on the server side, you should send a bugreport to the administrators of the web site so they can fix the problem.

What's new in iCab 6.0.11:
- Danish localization added
- New option available in the „Windows“ settings to open windows in a „cascade“ instead of using the previous position.
There are various web browsers available for macOS, and most users oscillate between popular titles, such as Safari, Opera, Google Chrome, or Firefox. iCab is yet another alternative for navigating the internet, and tries to incorporate by default all sorts of useful functions.
User friendly web browser packed with various functionalities
Since it retains the design of a classic web browser, finding your way around iCab is quite easy and intuitive: start by writing URLs in the address bar, and then navigate its content in the main area.
iCab also provides basic capabilities, such as recording your browsing history, allowing you to create and manage bookmarks, adjusting the font size, extracting the RSS feeds available on the page, and so on.
Built in functions that are not included in other web browsers
First off, iCab offers you the possibility to filter the content displayed on a certain website / group of websites: you can choose not to display images, embedded iframes, Java applets, JavaScripts, to change the default browser identity, and much more.
Moreover, iCab provides a Kiosk mode, records all HTML errors, comes with a download and a link manager, allows you to visualize the page source code, helps you deal with HTML cookies, enables you to browse in private mode and more.
Uncomplicated web browser that integrates various tools in order to differentiate from the more popular alternatives
Besides the classic web browsing functions that one should expect when launching a web browser, iCab also integrates a number of functions that are normally made available by third party applications, or various extensions.
All in all, if you are looking for a browser that includes a cookies / download / links manager, is able to browse in private mode, and can filter the webpages content, iCab certainly deserves a try.

iCab – an alternative web browser for the Apple Mac with numerous useful features not found in other browsers.
In the past, the application was equipped with its own rendering engine for displaying web pages. The original version was created on the TOS platform (Atari ST) and was called Crystal Atari Browser, so now, after transferring the application to the Mac OS platform, it is called “iCAB”.
Main features:
– Filtering advertising banners and much more – iCab can block undesirable content, like ads and pop-up windows.
– Kiosk mode – iCab will cover the whole screen and all other applications are blocked.
– Download manager – Files and even whole web pages can be downloaded to access the content off-line at your convenience, without having to go online again.
– Source code manager – iCab can display the source code of a page itself or open it in an Text Editor.
– Windows and tabs – you can easily decide if a link or bookmark is opened in a new window or tab, in the background or foreground.
– HTML pages can be stored in a compact ZIP-file, including all images of the page.
– iCab can warn the user when visiting sites known for Malware or Phishing.
– It is highly configurable.
iCab is shareware and costs $10 / 10 EUR, but it can be also used for free with a small limitation.
The project developer is Alexander Clauss.
